Saddleworth covers over 18,000 acres much of which is open land with breathtaking views from hills over looking scenic valleys. The area is rich in history with many
interesting places to visit Including Last of the Summer Wine Country along with traditional country pubs and restaurants all within easy reach

Uppermill is Saddleworth's main village. It is also the place to take a
canal boat trip on the Huddersfield narrow canal. The Pennine  way runs
directly through the area. walk across open farmland to the historic village of Lydgate with its 16th century church and excellent pub/restaurant the White Hart Inn who serve some of the areas finest cuisine

Often described as 'the greatest free show on Earth', the Saddleworth Whit  Friday Brass Band Contests take place every year on the afternoon and
evening of Whit Friday, the area has a very strong tradition of brass band
music and all of the contests are held in the open-air, many in delightful rural surroundings and It is possible to take in at several contests during the
evening. Saddleworth Round Table's charity beer Walk takes place the
following day and involves walking around the villages taking in the
wonderful local scenery (and a certain amount of local refreshment ) This is traditionally done in Fancy Dress and is a thoroughly enjoyable day for all
